FAQs

Answer & Questions

  • What is the use of AdBlue?

AdBlue is a diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) used in vehicles with Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) technology to reduce harmful gases being released into the atmosphere. AdBlue is a 32,5 % solution of high-purity, synthetically manufactured urea in de-mineralized water. It is a safe-to-use fluid.

  • What does AdBlue fuel do?

AdBlue is a diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) used in vehicles with Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) technology to reduce harmful gases being released into the atmosphere.

  • Do petrol cars use AdBlue?

No, petrol cars do not use AdBlue. AdBlue is a diesel exhaust fluid used to reduce harmful emissions from diesel engines, and is not needed in petrol cars.

  • What color is AdBlue?

AdBlue® is a colourless, non-toxic liquid that is a solution of water and urea. It works to convert nitrogen oxide emissions in the exhaust gas of diesel engines, into nitrogen and water. A particulate filter then further reduces solid particulates from the vehicle's exhaust emissions.

  • Which vehicles need AdBlue?

All new-age vehicles powered by a diesel engine come with a separate AdBlue tank. This safe-to-use fluid, along with a Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) technology, reduces harmful gases being released into the atmosphere.

  • What is the raw materials of AdBlue?

AdBlue® has a chemical composition of 32.5% urea ((NH2)2CO) and 67.5% deionised water (H20). As the prime ingredient of AdBlue® is urea, it is imperative that the highest quality raw material is sourced. This means technical grade urea, which is a high purity and uncoated granular form, should be utilised.
